Advocacy in Action

Standing Up for Immigrants Across Canada

I-CAN bridges the gap between immigrant communities and Canadian policy. We advocate, educate, and act — so no family is left behind by bureaucratic contradiction.

Our Mission

I-CAN was founded to give immigrant communities a collective, unified voice in Canadian federal policy. We believe that integration, contribution, and safety are rights — not privileges that expire on bureaucratic timelines.

⚖️

We demand fairness, parity, and consistency in how Canada treats all immigrant cohorts.

Community, Advocacy & Policy Change

We are immigrants, advocates, and allies who believe Canada’s immigration system must be fair, consistent, and humane for everyone.

👔

Professional Lobbying

We work with registered lobbyists experienced with IRCC and government decision-makers — strategic, targeted, and effective.

📊

Facts & Data First

Every position we take is backed by official sources, research, and evidence — not guesswork or emotion.

🌟

Coordinated Community

We engage as one unified group with clear, agreed-upon goals — not as scattered individuals competing for attention.

How I-CAN Creates Change

We combine advocacy, policy education, and community decision-making to protect immigrants across Canada.

01
📣

Parliamentary Advocacy

We organize coordinated letter campaigns directly to Members of Parliament, turning thousands of constituent voices into policy-changing pressure at the federal level.

02
📖

Policy Education

Members receive clear, fact-checked briefings on immigration law, ADR updates, work permit rules, and IRCC policy changes — translated from legalese into plain language.

03
👥

Collective Decision-Making

Members vote on the community’s next actions and priorities. Every paying member has a voice in shaping I-CAN’s strategy — not just a handful of directors.

04
🤝

Community & Support

A trusted network where members share experiences, legal resources, and mutual support — because navigating immigration alone is harder than it needs to be.

Who We Are

We are a group of immigrants who wish to call Canada our permanent home.

Regular people who believe that together we can help our community — working for free during the little spare time we have.

I’m Anna. I moved to Toronto 2.5 years ago, bringing with me over 15 years of experience in operational leadership. As a newcomer and a professional, I quickly realized that the path to stability in Canada is often blocked by inconsistent bureaucratic hurdles. I established I-CAN because I refuse to watch our community of skilled professionals and families be sidelined by policy gaps. I am using my background in strategic operations to turn our collective voice into a professional force that demands the parity and fairness we were promised.

I’m 43, married with three kids and a dog, and I’ve been living in Toronto, Ontario for the past two and a half years. I believe that nothing is truly impossible. With enough persistence and the right people by your side, you can move mountains and create changes that on paper seem like pure fantasy. I joined this community effort because I believe that when we act together, the path becomes much simpler, the results much more impressive — and you might even enjoy the ride.

I came to Canada a year and a half ago to give my children a safe and peaceful environment to grow up in. For me, Canada is not a place you come to ‘try out’ and then leave — it is the home where we want to build a stable future and achieve the citizenship that will give us long-term security. I joined I-CAN to play an active role and push our shared goal forward. I believe you can’t simply wait for things to happen on their own. For all of us to truly settle here and achieve the PR and stability we so desperately need, we must act together. I chose not to stand on the sidelines — I chose to take responsibility and make an impact on the place we have chosen to call home. When we help each other establish roots here, we build a safer future for all of us.

I’ve been in Canada for nearly 4 years, and it has become my home. I joined I-CAN out of a deep belief in mutual aid and the power of community. For me, this work is a personal mission — driven by a genuine desire to help, connect people, and create positive change. My motto: “Optimism is the choice to keep going, even when it’s not easy.”
